Why Buying Followers Can Hurt Your Music Business

Many musicians are so focused on gaining music followers on twitter, that they may do this at any cost…buying fake followers to make it look like they have a huge following.  This may be a common method today, but this is not a good way to engage your loyal fans and customers in the long run.

The reason for this is if you buy your followers or fans you aren’t attracting people who really are interested in engaging with you or your music.  You’ll also me more likely to get a large number of fake accounts in the process.  This can ultimately hurt your reputation as others may think you’re gaming the system when they see your number of followers jump up exponentially in only a couple of days.

You may think nobody will know, but nowadays there are tools available that can analyze your followers to see how many of your  twitter followers are fake.  You’ll have to ultimately ask yourself if its really worth risking getting your social media account suspended or deleted just to show you have a large number of followers.

Strongly consider putting a dedicated effort into building a community of people who are interested in you and your music products and services.  Try building a  loyal fanbase so you have great music customers now and in the future.
