Michael Cera Releases Indie Folk Solo Album

You may know Michael Cera from his acting in movies like Juno, and Superbad, but he’s also a musician.  He sang backing vocals and played mandolin on Weezer’s 2010 album, “Hurley“.  He also played bass for indie-rock supergroup Mister Heavenly.  Michael surprised a lot of people by creating songs with the GarageBand software and released an indie folk album last week.  Cera said in an interview thursday…

“I would record a lot of the songs in the middle of the night just at home. I never thought anyone would ever listen to them.” “It’s really nice that people are paying any attention to it because there’s a lot of stuff to listen to.”

Not many people knew Michael even dropped his 18 song album “true that” on Bandcamp on August 8th, until his buddy Jonah Hill tweeted a link on Wednesday.

Check out his bandcamp link and the video above for more information, and make sure you share your own creativity.  You may be surprised what opportunites that can bring you too.
