Apple Music Streaming Service Set to Launch Next Month

Apple Music, Apple’s anticipated streaming music service based on Beats Music, is set to be announced next month at Apple’s Worldwide Developers conference (WWDC) on Monday June 8th.  On iOS, the music streaming service is expected to be built into a redesigned version of the Music application, and a Mac and Android version is expected.

Unlike Ping (Apple’s failed music focused social network), artists will have their own profiles, and will be able to post music samples, and share content from other artists.  Other users will have the ability to comment or like information using their itunes accounts, but won’t have their own social network profiles like they had with Ping.

Apple Music will reportedly launch with a free trial, but is petitioning music labels to eliminate free streaming options, despite the FTC investigating the company’s business practices.
